Judy Note: Although the state of Ohio has released Kaitlynn from foster care prison because she has turned 18, they still will not allow her to return to her home because of a restraining order on her mother Jeannine. The below is a request filed in court by Kaitlynn Hunter asking for removal of the Protective Order that prevents her from going home. I, Kaitlynn Marie Hunter, swear under pains and penalties of perjury that the following is true: I, Kaitlynn Marie Hunter, am 18 years old born on December 12, 2007. Today is Saturday the 17th of January the year is 2026. I was taken from my mother Jeannine Larrick, illegally on February 11th 2019. I spent some of my most crucial developmental years away from my mother and away from any safety. I ran away from a group home in Dayton [OH] sometime in November of 2024 after Thanksgiving. I wasn’t safe physically away from harm and I was mentally destroyed. I was going to take my life on Thanksgiving that year but just as I was going to use the knife, the staff walked in and I dropped it. I decided then I wasn’t going to live that way anymore; one way or another I wasn’t staying. And so I left. The months I was gone were the most peaceful months of my life. I wasn’t in any danger, and if I was, I would’ve willingly came back; nobody held me anywhere while I was on the run. I was held in [State Custody] care unwillingly since I was 11 years old. I was in danger coming back to the system that was supposed to protect me. I need my family. My grandmother is in the hospital [grandmother Betty Larrick passed away at 2:37 a.m. on January 18, 2026, after 33 days at Ohio Health Grant hospital ] and I’ve already missed so many years; she is dying.
